Maria Ludovica von Habsburg (1791 – 1847) was an Austrian politician. Alternative spellings of her given names are Marie-Louise and Maria Luigia. 1810 – 14 she was empress of France. However, she then had no greater political power. She was simply married to the emperor of France. From 1817 she was princess of Parma. This is why she earned to be called “politician”.
Maria Ludovica was married three times. In 1810 she married for the first time with Napoleone Buonaparte. With him she had the son Franz. Formally she remained married to him until he died in 1821. However, they never meet after 1814. She very soon had a lover named Adam Albert von Neipperg (1775 – 1829). He was an Austrian general and diplomat. The same year as she became princess of Parma they got their daughter Albertine. As soon as she had heard of her husband's death she remarried Adam. Within marriage they got the son Wilhelm. They got a daughter and a son more but these two did not survive. Five years after the death of her second husband she married for the third time. This time it was with Charles-René de Bombelles (1785 – 1856). He was a French-spoken politician. But I in fact don't know what ethnicity he had. With him she had no children.
