Were the dinosaurs warm blooded or cold blooded?
All dinosaurs were more or less warm blooded. Warm bloodiness can’t evolve from cold bloodiness as fast as a new species arise. (It can’t arise fast as new genera or families either.) So the very earliest dinosaurs can’t have been completely warm blooded. However, their metabolism must have been significantly higher than those of animals considered cold blooded. Otherwise, they would not have been able to compete with other animals also in the process of evolving warm bloodiness.
