Ett stort, växtätande däggdjur, som levde på Eurasiens savanner, i mitten av paleogen. Notera att bara hannarna hade det långa ”noshorn”, som visas på bilden. Honorna hade bara ett mycket kort horn. Båda användes sannolikt, för att förstärka ljud. Djurfamiljen (Brontotheriidae) finns inte kvar idag. Deras närmaste levande släktingar är hästdjur.

A large, herbivorous mammal which lived on the Eurasian savannahs in the middle Palaeogene. Please note that only males had the long horn on their noses shown in the image. The females had only a very short horn. Both were probably used to amplify sounds. This animal’s family (Brontotheriidae) don’t exist today. But its closest living relatives are horses.
