It is a group of people who share descent on either their mother’s or their father’s side. The ones on the mother’s side is inherited form a mum to all her children. On the father’s side they are normally only inherited from a dad to his sons. There are exceptions but then we are talking about transpeople. Alternatively, the person is sterile.
