Why does some of the differently coloured field differ from the American original?
I have merged the vegetation zones I could not tell the difference between. Furthermore, I have changed parts of southern New Zeeland. They are marked on the original map as ”Tropical grassland”. At the same time they almost immediately border to a permanent ice sheet (”ice sheet or other permanent ice”). The differences in altitude of the area are not large enough to allow for such a great difference in climate. For this reason I changed it to temperate steppe.
Moreover, I have made a difference between monsoon forest and what can be called Mediterranean woodland. On subtropical latitudes the western sides of the continents get the most of their rain during the colder parts of the year. On the eastern sides it is the opposite. This result in rather big difference in vegetation which I think one should take into consideration.
