He is a vaguely squid-like alien which species have six arms. Each arm ends with two fingers. Moreover, they have a ring of tentacles around their mouths. Most humans would throw up if they ever saw a member of his species. Otherwise, they temporarily go nuts. Consequentially, he uses an environmental suite which makes him appear anthropomorphic. He anyway needs to breathe air with higher oxygen content. His species also uses canes to keep their bodies upright.
